Frequently Asked Questions.
General Class Questions
-
Classes start in September and run until June for our recital, with dance camp options during the off-season.
-
For our littles, we ask that they come to class with a dance bag. They should have their tap shoes, ballet shoes, and (if they have them) jazz shoes. All shoes need to have the dancers initials inside them. They may bring a water bottle, but we ask that they know how to open and close it by themselves to minimize spills on the dance floor. It’s also a good idea to keep a pair of socks and an extra hair tie in their bags.
For our older dancers, please come to class with all your dance shoes, socks, a water bottle, deodorant, and a (healthy!) snack or meal for your longer nights at the studio.
-
Dancers should wear form fittings clothes to class. No baggy clothes or big jewelry. Street clothes not acceptable. Hair needs to be pulled back and out of the face.
For our ballet classes, dancers should wear tights and a leotard. Ballet skirts, shorts and ballet sweaters are allowed. (Again, no baggy clothes.) Boys may wear a tight fitting t-shirt and pants.
-
All shoes need to be ordered through the dance studio. Payment is due at the time of sizing so the order can be placed.
Please let a teacher know if you need shoes ordered during the dance season.
During the Summer, we host multiple Open Houses where dancers can get sized for new shoes.
-

Recital Questions
-
Our recital takes places during the month of June. As soon as our show date is confirmed, it will be posted on our website, Facebook & the information board at the studio.
-
Yes! All dancers are given the opportunity to perform in our end-of-year recital. We begin planning the show in September and dancers work all year to build their technique, learn choreography and prepare for the show.
-
Typically our recitals run about 2 hours long from start to finish. However, the exact timing depends on a number of factors including how promptly we can start the show, timing of intermission, etc.
-
Our show begins at 11am. We ask the dancers are dressed, ready & backstage by 10:40.
-
Ticket sales typically begin in May. An exact date will be posted on our website, Facebook & the bulletin board at the studio.
-
Yes! We have a professional videographer who will record the entire recital. You may purchase a DVD or Flash drive copy for yourself and/or family members.
Order forms will be available at the studio around the time of the recital.
-
We encourage all of our dancers to stay for the entire show. It is a great way to show respect and support for their fellow dancers.
Each show also ends with a finale dance, where the entire ensemble of dancers join us on stage for a final dance together and to thank everyone who worked hard all year to make the show possible.
